Red Nose Day

We are proud to have raised an incredible £6,213,159 for Red Nose Day

Over the past year, we have seen the long-term effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on our communities. The most vulnerable people have been hit hardest, including the homeless, individuals at risk of domestic abuse, and those struggling with mental health issues. Comic Relief supports these individuals and families to rebuild their lives by partnering with amazing projects and organisations that work to tackle some of the biggest challenges our society faces today.

Our 23 year long partnership with Comic Relief has allowed us to uphold our better for everyone commitment within our Plan for Better strategy, to leave a measurable positive impact on the communities we serve. Together our donations have totalled over £145 million and have been used to help more than 1.5 million people in the UK and 12.3 million people around the world.

This year Red Nose Day took place on the 18th March, and we had a range of merchandise on sale with eight very cute (and plastic free!) safari animal noses to collect as well as Red Nose Day tote bags which were designed by Sir Quentin Blake, and made from recycled plastic bottles. We were also able to work with suppliers who supported by offering a pence per pack donation on participating products sold, giving our customers even more opportunity to support.

Instore campaign:

We had vibrant and impactful designs in store which incorporated this year’s red noses and merchandise range. We had a particularly strong presence at front of stores and checkouts, as well as convenience and petrol filling stations.

Goods Online:

We also featured the Red Nose Day landing page, highlighting the different ways in which customers can get involved. Customers had the choice to purchase merchandise or donate directly.

For the first time, merchandise was live in our 150 Argos standalone stores and noses were available to purchase online on the Argos website. We also decorated our stores with Red Nose Day branding along with Red Nose Day branded digital screens.

The support from our suppliers, colleagues and customers has been inspiring to see, and we are pleased to have raised an incredible £6,213,159 for Red Nose Day, making a real difference to those that need it most. In addition to this, we have also seen an overwhelming response from our customers to the Ukrainian Crisis Appeal and together we’ve raised over £3.5 million
